Why Lift Right exists
Lift Right is case management and grant reporting software for human services organizations. It started with one person who needed help, and a lesson in how much good happens when people in need connect with the right people and resources.
How it started
In 2015, while traveling through the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho, Lift Right’s founder, Tyson Shelley, met a sheepherder from Peru, far from home and working with very few supplies. Tyson had lived in Peru years earlier and quickly connected with him and learned his story. That turned into months of working with the Idaho Department of Labor to understand the program meant for workers like him, and to get his new friend the support he needed.
The help existed. Reaching it took a persistence most people don’t have time for. Caseworkers face that gap every day, for every person on their caseload.
The red and white bands in our logo come from the flag of Peru, in honor of where Lift Right’s journey began.

Our primary KPI is “people lifted”. We started Lift Right to lift burdens and right wrongs, and we keep that center frame at all times. We believe that approach keeps us focused on values and impact over revenue and gain.
Who’s behind it
Lift Right is based in Colorado. It was founded by Tyson Shelley, who spent more than 15 years at software companies (Lingotek, Zoom, Elastic) before turning his expertise to helping human services organizations succeed.
